KNDU TV and Kia Ora Fitness crowned the newest Tri-Cities Biggest Loser on Tuesday night during the season finale of the hit NBC TV show.
The Tri-Cities newest Biggest Loser is Anthony Scott of Pasco. Scott lost 73 pounds during the 10-week contest, a 21% reduction of his 320 pound starting weight in October. Scott won a big screen HDTV from Best Buy and laser treatments from MacDonald Health to improve loose skin resulting from his significant weight loss.
Scott, 30, said wanting to improve his health and set a good example for his kids motivated him to compete in the contest.
The contest first runner-up was Samuel Hernandez of West Richland, who lost 60 pounds. Second runner-up Martha Meier
of Richland lost 23 pounds.
This is the third free local weight loss contest KNDU TV has hosted, and more than 2,300 pounds have been lost in the Tri-Cities since the first contest in 2008. Kia Ora Fitness helped nearly 200 people slim down and shape up in this recent contest, and is already planning to do it again in January.
