YAKIMA--Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences and three former employees are embroiled in lawsuits heading into 2010.
Former university president Stan Flemming and two other employees sued the school and its board of trustees.
They want their salaries paid in full as severance pay.
The university has counter sued. They want independent arbitrators to decide how much the fired employees get.
The board's chair calls the whole situation disappointing.
"You always hope that you can resolve things amicably without being in a court situation," Karen Hyatt said. "That's what we had hoped for."
Hyatt said the turmoil has not affected students or donations.
PNWU just received a $100,000 gift from a private donor Thursday, December 31.
