West Richland Police Chief resigns; City Administrator fired
WEST RICHLAND, Wash. – West Richland Chief of Police, Layne Erdman resigns. Multiple sources have confirmed Erdman resigned from his position Monday.
West Richland City Administrator, Dave Weiser was fired. Both are on paid administrative leave until the end of the month.
The city's new mayor, Donna Noski, fired Weiser Monday, the same day she began her term as mayor.
Noski fired Weiser as a fulfillment of a campaign promise. Prior to becoming mayor, she served as City Administrator for West Richland, and campaigned that she could do both jobs (mayor and administrator).
Erdman was informed he could turn in his letter of resignation, or be fired. Erdman was Chief of Police for four years and was with the West Richland Police Department for eighteen years.
Noski has been in closed-door meetings all afternoon and has not been able to comment on the personnel changes.
