Obama to announce new airline safety measures

Posted: Updated:

WASHINGTON D.C. - In the wake of the Christmas Day bombing attempt on a Northwest Airlines plane over Detroit, President Barack Obama is preparing to tell the nation how he plans to prevent future terrorist attacks.

The White House says Obama today will outline changes to the lists of suspected terrorists that the government maintains. His comments will follow a meeting on air security with 20 officials. They've been reviewing the screening of airline passengers, as well as the watch-list system.

KNDO will stream the speech live on our website, www.kndo.com at 1pm Tuesday afternoon. The speech will interrupt Days of Our Lives.
