Two teens injured in drive-by shooting at Fifth Avenue and Willow Street
UPDATE: YAKIMA, Wash. -- Yakima police are trying to figure out who the suspects are from the latest gang-related shooting that left two young people with gunshot wounds.
Police say at just after 4:30 Tuesday afternoon, three male juveniles were shot at by a passenger in a passing car at the Northwest corner of Fifth Avenue and Willow Street.
A 15-year old was shot in the chest, a 17-year old was shot in the leg and back, as of Tuesday evening both are in stable condition.
Police say shootings are becoming common in this neighborhood.
"We seem to have a real up tick in violent gang activity since September right here within a couple of block area," said Sgt. Scot Levno, Yakima Police Department.
The shooting happened in the same block that a gang-member by the name of Yobane Ortiz was shot and killed last year. The shots were fired from an older Grey Nissan four door sedan. So far, police haven't identified any of the suspects.
