YAKIMA, Wash. -- Around 12,000 farmers attended the First Annual Yakima Ag Expo, held at the Sundome Friday and Saturday.
The event brought together over forty vendors from equipment companies and tires to insurance. State Director of Agriculture, Dan Newhouse, spoke on Friday and Attorney General Rob McKenna committed via video to attend next years expo.
Overall, farmers and vendors liked the inaugural event.
"I liked the layout of the show it's very open, it's easy to get around. They have a beer garden which is always good," said Tom Riel, Burrows Tractors.
"It's fun, where you don't have to travel out of town and it's right here," said Ed Bood, Husch and Husch.
The event also featured live music and a farmers dinner where awards were presented. Organizers expect the Ag Expo to grow each year as word spreads.
