Americans fall short in Spokane

SPOKANE, Wash. -- Round two of a three game weekend bash for the Americans took place in Spokane Saturday.  The Ams winning three of the last four meetings between the rivals.  It's also a good thing Tri city traveled north to Chief ice, considering Spokane is on a six game losing streak at home.

The losing streak officially over for the Chiefs.  The Americans lost 2-1 in Spokane.  Jordan Messier tied the game at one midway through the third period.  However, Jared Spurgeon with under seven minutes left in the game slipped one past Drew Owsley for the game clinching goal.

The Americans play Sunday night at home against the Chilliwack Bruins at 5:05 at the Toyota Center.
