Kennewick, WA- Mid Columbia hay growers are optimistic 2010 will be a better growing season than last year.
The Washington State Hay Growers Association is holding its annual conference and trade show at the Three Rivers Convention Center.
Association President Drex Gauntt says growers see bright spots as the world recovers from the economic downturn. Gauntt says a large percentage of hay grown in the Mid-Columbia is exported. "Japan, Korea, Taiwan, they're emerging markets. In the Middle East, and China is another emerging market for exported forages."
More than 300 people are attending the conference, which continues tomorrow.
