ELLENSBURG--Kittitas County soccer fans are chomping at the bit, eager for the brand new indoor facility at the Ellensburg Racquet Club to open.
KNDO took a sneak peek Saturday. The Kittitas Valley Junior Soccer Association hoped to play games here by New Year's Day, but some hang ups with insurance coverage have kept teams off the pitch.
Someday soon, they hope to host tournaments with up to forty teams.
For right now, they'll settle for a game.
" I'm very excited but not half as excited as the kids around here," KVJSA President Dave Burgess said. "They keep calling and asking when we're going to be open to play."
Burgess said opening day could be as soon as this week.
The indoor field is a joint project between KVJSA, the city of Ellensburg, and Central Washington University.
