ELLENSBURG--Thousands were drawn to downtown Ellensburg for the sixth annual Brewfest.
21 different breweries at ten venues brought people to the downtown area, giving a boost businesses haven't felt in the post-holiday shopping slowdown.
People buy tickets for beer from the Ellensburg Chamber of Commerce, So most restaurants don't actually do much business, but the exposure--especially to out-of-towners from Yakima and Wenatchee--makes everything worthwhile.
"They'll come down for the Brewfest and hopefully go back home and remember what a good time they had here in Ellensburg," Mitchell Cook, owner of the Dakota Cafe, said.
Cook said this is the busiest day of the year for his restaurant.
