Fruit growers from Yakima donate $400,000 for Haiti relief efforts
YAKIMA, Wash. – The owners of FirstFruits is donating $400,000 to relief efforts in Haiti after a major earthquake struck almost a week ago.
The Broetje family, fruit growers originally from Yakima who now run Broetje Orchards near Pasco have been giving back to non-profits for years. Vista Hermosa is the family's foundation that helps organizations responding to crises around the world.
The money donated for the Haiti earthquake will go to World Vision and Food for the Poor.
