KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Tri-City goaltender Alex Pechurskiy has only been with the Americans about a month and now he has been in the NHL for a day.
On Friday, Pechurskiy was in goal at the Toyota Center.
On Saturday, he was making his NHL debut for the Pittsburgh Penguins. Pechurskiy stopped 12 of 13 shots, although it was in a Pittsburgh loss.
Now, he is back in the Tri-Cities.
The Russian netminder doesn't speak English so we asked other Ams players about seeing him in the NHL.
"After the game the other day on the TV in the dressing room, they showed a couple highlights and it was really neat seeing him out there," said Forward Johnny Lazo."
"It was exciting for our players, not just Alex," said Head Coach Jim Hiller. "To know that Alex was going there and then all of a sudden to see him go in the net and make saves versus guys that are NHL players and NHL All-Stars just lets you know that it is a level you want to reach. You have to respect it but you're not that far away."
