New Burlesque Brew opens in Kennewick; what's the city think?
KENNEWICK, Wash.-- It's a first for the city of Kennewick, so called bikini baristas have come to town.
It's a bigger problem in Yakima, where city council may adopt ordinances to curb so called "sex-presso" stands; after some stands offered more gratuitous actions for more gratuity.
But what about here? We wanted to know if servers, whose clothes don't leave much to the imagination are in violation of any city code. In Kennewick, they're OK because the city isn't about to start to tell anyone how they have to dress.
"Our codes are based on regulating conduct, not dress," says Bob Hammond, Kennewick City Manager.
Richland also feels the same way with their bikini barista stands, including the Daily Buzz espresso stand. We tried to talk with the Burlesque Brew today to see if they fear any possible code enforcement, but they were closed.
