PASCO, Wash. - A former Pasco man is one step closer to building a water park near Broadmoor in Pasco. Jim Hale is planning to build a 27 acre water park between the Sleep Inn of Pasco and the Broadmoor Park Outlet mall.
Thursday night he met with the Pasco Planning Commission asking them for a special use permit. During the public hearing he presented a master plan of the project which he hopes to complete in four phases. Nearly 20 people commented on his plan and the majority were in favor, but they did have some concerns. Some of those include traffic issues, water and sewer usage and hours of operation. Another concern for the project was funding.
"At the moment we are still in talks with a number of sources that are interested in what we have going on and are excited about it and are willing to invest in us," said Hales. His next step is to address the issues and revise a working master plan. The planning commission will then present the revised site plan to City Council on February 18.
