YAKIMA, Wash. -- On Saturday night at the Bellevue Hilton, the Washington State Football Coaches Association named as "Coach of the Year" Dan Eyman, head football coach for Eisenhower High School, and Gary Jimenez as "Assistant Coach of the Year", in recognition for Ike's astounding undefeated season in 2009.  See attached photo.  Before a crowd of 250 coaches and family members from throughout the state, both of them were honored with "GAME BALL" plaques and recognized for their 24 years of commitment coaching football.  Eyman has been head football coach for Eisenhower since the late 80's -- prior to that he was Highland High School's football coach.  Eyman is a graduate of Eastern Washington University and West Valley High School.  Jimenez has been with Ike's program for over seven years and is a graduate of Central Washington University and Naches High School.

Pat Fitterer, the current President of the Association, said "Eisenhower is very fortunate to have outstanding coaches like Dan and Gary.  With a combination of outstanding athletes, their synergism and success gave Yakima great enthusiasm and pride this year.  With their leadership, Eisenhower football should have many more years of great success.  This was the first time in Eisenhower's history that their football team went undefeated, racking up 11 victories, and this was the first time they've progressed that far in the playoffs since 1975."
