Vandals cut fiber optic cables

YAKIMA, Wash. - The Yakima County sheriff's office says vandals cut fiber optic cables that carry phone, TV and Internet service to Selah.

The damage was reported early Wednesday by Charter Communications.

Repair crews found two cables cut at the railroad trestle that crosses the Naches River between Yakima and Selah.

Estimates for repair of the damage were not immediately available but it is believed that it will be several thousand dollars in time, labor and lost service.
