Yakima's Parsons Finishes With Silver in 1st Event

ASPEN, Colorado -- Former West Valley Ram Joe Parsons has his eyes on the prize, that being three gold medals at X-Games 14.

Thursday night, Parsons had a chance to earn his first gold this year in Snowmobile Freestyle. He actually landed a trick which had never been landed before in competition. It's called the Parsby.

Was it enough the grab the gold? The answer, no. Justin Hoyer actually comes through with the gold and Parsons the silver. Parsons now has 2 X-Games Golds (from 2009), 2 silvers and a bronze in his career.

He will have another chance at gold in Friday night's Best Trick Competition.

But, for now, he is just happy to represent for Yakima.

"It's pretty cool," said Parsons. "I think people think it's cooler than I do but it is cool to be able to represent where you are from and bring some attention there."
