Kennewick, WA- With a rainy weekend in store, this may be a good time to crack open a good book.
The Friends of the Mid-Columbia Libraries are holding its book sale Saturday and Sunday at the Kennewick branch.
Children's books, novels and non-fiction, DVDs and music CDs come from the library's shelves.
"We go through those and pick out what we think people will want," says Nancy Russell, President of the Friends of the Mid-Columbia Libraries, "then we get a lot of donations, and those donations we put on a higher price, like maybe a dollar instead of 50 cents."
Friends of the Mid-Columbia Libraries hope to make around ten thousand dollars. All proceeds will go back into the eleven libraries to help pay for programs and other services.
The sale goes on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
