KENNEWICK, Wash;-- Vocalists for the Mid Columbia Mastersingers gathered today at Barnes and Noble in Kennewick to share their musical ambitions with the crowd.
Between two and 10 percent of sales the organization helps bring in today will go toward Mastersinger programs. All money raised will help the group bring a national composer to the Tri-Cities and to our local schools.
"Today is to help support the residency that we have coming up with Libby Larson, to allow us to bring her to this community and give people a chance to interact with a nationally known composer," Sam Purvine said, president of the Mid Columbia Mastersingers.
Larson is expected to come in about two weeks. Representatives of the Mastersingers say she will spend a week touring schools and talking about life as a composer.
