Biologist plan to euthanize big horn sheep with pneumonia
NEAR ELLENSBURG, Wash. -- Biologists will be euthanizing a portion of the big horn sheep herd in the Yakima River Canyon.
Department of Fish and Wildlife officers say about a third of the sheep have pneumonia and there is no treatment or vaccination. It's not transmissible to humans or other livestock, but they want to stop it from spreading to other sheep.
The killing should take place at the end of this month.
