Social Security adds 38 new Compassionate Allowance Conditions
KENNEWICK, Wash;--38 diseases and medical conditions have been added to the list of Compassionate Allowances.
The Compassionate Allowance list is a way to fast-track who is approved for Social Security benefits. Sometimes it can take months or even years to receive benefits, but if you are diagnosed with one of the diseases included on this list you could get approved within weeks.
For example, Early-Onset Alzheimer's has been added because it's a disease that can instantly start affecting your everyday life. Now people suffering from Alzheimers won't have the added stress of waiting for a long financial decision.
