Pasco, WA- A man who has served more than six years in prison for manslaughter could be free tomorrow, if he can come up with a half-million dollars.
Delonde Pleasant pleaded guilty in 2003 to beating his girlfriend to death. He was sentenced to 25 years.
Last year, a judge ordered a jury review to determine if the punishment exceeded the standard sentencing.
Today judge Cameron Mitchell ruled Pleasant could wait for that hearing outside of prison walls, if he posts a bond of 500-thousand dollars.
Pleasant's attorney also says he plans to appeal the sentencing to the state supreme court.
