KENNEWICK, Wash-- The Tri-Cities Cancer Center continues to expand.
Workers at the Kennewick office have started using a new $3.5 million piece of x-ray equipment. It's called the Trilogy, and leaders at the Cancer Center say it's one of the most advanced ways to detect the disease.
"This particular machine allows us to focus the beam so precisely that we're targeting only the diseased tissue, and trying to spare as much of the healthy tissue surrounding it as we can," explains Tom Cothran, the Executive Director.
Cothran says this can help in the treatment process and help beat the disease, while also helping put the Tri-Cities Cancer Center on par with major cities.
And remember, Friday night is *think pink* for breast cancer night at the Americans game. All donations will go to the local cancer center.
