Yakima Police investigating early morning death

YAKIMA, Wash. – Yakima Police are investigating the death of man found bleeding Monday morning from an apparent stab wounds.

Officers arrived at the intersection of Pleasant Ave. and Pierce St. around 2:45 a.m. and saw the man laying on the ground near his car. He has been identified as 21 year old Ali Lemus Vargas. He was suffering from multiple stab wounds to the chest, head and hands. Vargas was taken to Memorial Hospital but died shortly after.

Officers followed the blood trail for several hours. It eventually led them to a house in the 1500 block of South 7th Ave. There, they found 42 year old Richard Solis with knife wounds to his hands and abdomen.

Police determined that Solis apparently had stabbed Vargas to death during a fight. Solis was booked into the Yakima County jail on a charge of Second Degree Murder.
