A Kennewick man, Mickey McCullough, walked into KNDU a few weeks ago and told us he had "a lot" of pennies he had been collecting over "several" years. Mickey asked members of the KNDO/KNDU staff if he could donate the pennies to us and hold a coin guessing contest. Mickey explained the contest winner would win a kids bicycle.
We gladly excepted his proposal to hold the "Pennies Pennies Guess How Many Coin Contest". Mickey then delivered "a bunch" of pennies to us. Right now they are in a five gallon water jug and they weigh a "ton".
The goal is simple. The kid whose guess is the closest to the amount of pennies that are actually in the jug will be the winner. The winner will be announced live on the air during KNDO/KNDU's Spring Family Food Drive event Saturday, April 24th. After the contest the pennies will be donated to a local charity.
