A dog in Pasco is suffering from neglect according to neighbors, but Animal Control leaders say they can't do anything about it.
Neighbors on Yakima Street in Pasco sent us pictures that show the dog in troubling conditions and without food or water, which is why outside people have been feeding it every day.
We weren't able to get in contact with the owners, but we talked to workers at Animal Control. They say it's because outside people are taking care of the pup that they aren't able to get involved. They want people to know unless the dog shows signs of imminent danger there isn't much they can do.
"If you have concerned citizens feeding and watering this animal they are hampering our investigation and tying our hands with what we can and cannot do," Angela Zilar of Animal Control said.
Zilar says they will be checking on the dog every day and have been in contact with the owners who say they are attending to the problem. She adds, once people stop feeding it and if the dog goes 24 hours without food or water and his needs aren't met, they will have probable cause to go in and do something.
