Tri-Cities Visitor and Convention Bureau kicks off new marketing campaign
KENNEWICK, Wash;--The Tri-Cities Visitor and Convention Bureau kicked off a new marketing campaign yesterday to try and draw more visitors to our area.
The Bureau is specifically trying to target people in the Seattle area by running more than 200 television commercials over the next two months. They highlight this region's sunshine, golf, boating and wine.
The President and CEO of the organization says they expect to have success because with a slow economy people are vacationing closer to home.
"People nowadays are very concerned about where that paycheck is going. People in these economic times and the downturn in the economy they're looking for bargains, they're bargain hunters," says Kris Watkins. "So with that message in mind we have this great commercial encouraging people to come to the Tri-Cities region."
And it must be working because in just one day since the first commercial aired the bureau has had nearly 50 calls from interested travelers.
