Kennewick, WA- People working with foster children in the Mid Columbia are hopping onto the Internet.
Social workers and others involved in foster care are learning how to make sophisticated Internet searches in order to track down family and relatives of children who think they're alone in the world.
Catholic Family and Child Service Director Maureen McGrath says the training program funded through a federal grant could help many of the nearly 900 children in foster care in the Mid Columbia.
"This grant will also allow us the capability of traveling to different states in order to engage those families and children so that those match and connections are a safe and loving match and connection."
The training program is part of a one million dollar grant to help reduce the number of children in state custody due to child abuse and neglect.
