PASCO, Wash. - The Pasco Planning Commission unanimously approved a request for a special use permit for a West Pasco water park. The final recommendations will now go to the City Council for final approval. If approved, the water park will have to be completed in one phase.
As of now, plans for the 27,000 acre park include water slides, a wave pool, go-carts, a family fun center and a motel. Operations Manager, Lorin Hale, says he's not at liberty to speak about the funding for the park but he says his main goal is to get approval from City Council. "We're just basically waiting for City Council. We are moving forward, doing what we can, but until we get an approval, we are just doing what we can do," said Hale.
The Pasco City Council meeting will take place on March 1st. If approved by city leaders, they hope to start construction in the summer.
