Intended pipe bombs discovered in Post Falls rental property

POST FALLS, Idaho - Post Falls police say they are investigating the discovery of two unfinished pipe bombs inside a rental property located in the 200 block of E. 3rd Ave.

Police say the current occupant was moving out of the property when he found what he believed to be two pipe bombs in the basement.  The renter called police, and officers who responded determined the devices to be unfinished pipe bombs.  The two devices did not contain any powder, but the caps had been drilled for fuses and there was an unknown substance inside that will need to be tested.  Police believe it was the intention of the person who started making the bombs to eventually finish the job they started.

The Spokane County Bomb Squad was called out to the location and safely dismantled the devices.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and if they locate the would be bomb-maker they could face charges.
