Yakima Valley Warriors lend some muscle to the community
YAKIMA, Wash. -- The Warriors, Yakima's new indoor football team, is putting their muscle to use in the community.
They're lending a hand to Habitat for Humanity, building a home in Yakima. The house is one of several being built by Habitat and part of a larger development. Some of the players already know what they're doing, having worked construction before. Others are just excited to be helping their new community.
"We being a new team, you know in Yakima, we want to show our support for the community and hope in return the community shows support for us," said Wilson Afoa, Yakima Valley Warrior.
The Warrior's first game will be April 3rd against Wenatchee Valley. The team plans to continue their community service as they work to build a positive reputation in the valley.
