KENNEWICK, Wash. -- The 1st steps towards success began Tuesday for the Tri-Cities Fever. It was the opening day of training camp.
The practice featured skill position players only. Wednesday, the rest of the team will join in on the workouts. The players in attendance were more than thrilled to suit up for head coach Adam Shackleford. Shackleford is a coach who knows how to win, posting a 49-8 record the past three season's as Spokane's Head Coach. He even won an Arena Cup Title.
"Everybody looks up to him," said Defensive Back Devon Walker. "Just the way he talks, the way he he speaks, you know it's actually coming from a person who has been there. Not a person whose been there once and wants to get there, but someone who has done it time after time."
"It's a great thing that he's a winner, because I'm a winner as well," said the Fever's Derek Nicholson. "I'm glad I'm put in a situation where I can do well and win football games."
