Richland School Board selects Dr. Busey as new superintendent
RICHLAND, Wash.-- Doctor James Busey says he's excited to be the new superintendent of the Richland School District.
Richland school board members selected Busey after a series of public meetings and spending a day at the district where he currently works. Busey has been the superintendent of Lake Chelan Schools for the past ten years and worked in the Zillah District for more than 20.
Busey says his 30 years of experience in schools will help in his new position. He says, "I try to keep a lot of direction and focus on improving instruction in the classroom and improving leadership. From the people I've met, I'm very excited because there are a lot of great folks to work with, great students and families."
Busey is set to start July 1, replacing Doctor Jean Lane who is retiring.
