Tri-Cities group files lawsuit against President Obama
The Tri-Cities group threatening to sue President Barack Obama over Yucca Mountain and disposal of Hanford waste says it is not a threat anymore.
The group says the lawsuit has officially been filed in Federal Court.
The three men say Obama broke the law when he released his 2011 budget. It does not include funding for Yucca Mountain (in Nevada), which has been on the drawing board for more than 25 years. The group is trying to sue the President as well as the Secretary of Energy, Steven Chu.
Governor Chris Gregoire and State Attorney General Rob McKenna are considering legal action as well.
