An 8.8 magnitude earthquake hit Chile early this morning.
The epicenter of the earthquake is about 200 miles from Santiago. Right now, at least 200 are feared dead. The quake tore down buildings, homes, and took down bridges. Tonight President Obama is telling people the U.S. is ready to help.
The quake sent ripples in the Pacific Ocean, causing tsunami fears around California, Hawaii. and even Oregon where there's a tsunami warning. Thus far, no reports of any big waves hitting the coast.
