Kennewick, WA- Bus riders in the Tri-Cities may have to adjust their schedules in the coming months.
Ben Franklin Transit wants to consolidate several routes during the work week, which could mean longer wait times and rides.
Transit spokeswoman Kathy McMullen says routes 45, 46 and 49 in Kennewick would be replaced by one new route.
"Those routes are running at 60 minutes a day. This new route would run a half hour during the times of the day when people travel most," McMullen says. "We would probably go to hour service in the middle of the day when not many people are traveling, and we'll see how that goes."
Ben Franklin Transit will hold two public hearings on the proposals at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday at the transit center on Okanogan place, across the street from the justice center.
The transit board will also look at its six year development plan, which includes replacing more than a dozen buses, which have logged more than one million miles each.
