Richland, WA- A former congressman from Eastern Washington says the Tri-Cities should brand itself as a model of a green community.
Speaking to businesses in the energy and construction industries today, George Nethercutt says the Tri-Cities has the opportunity to lead as the nation develops energy policies for the future.
"We can be a model here in the Tri- Cities for sustainability, energy efficiency, for job creation," Nethercutt says. "We just have to make our views known and policy makers have to listen."
With many of those policy makers up for re-election this year, Nethercutt says he doubts congress will pass any energy bill this year, but the former congressman says he expects a bill to pass before the end of President Obama's term.
