Police investigating Sunnyside shooting

SUNNYSIDE, Wash. -- Two people are in custody for a shooting that happened Saturday night in Sunnyside.

Sunnyside Police responded to a call of shots fired in the 500 block of N. 4th St. just before midnight on Saturday.

Police say two suspects shot at each other within a relatively short distance; one was standing in the street, another in a lawn of a house.

One person was shot in the torso and taken to a local hospital.

Officers searched the home and found marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a loaded shotgun. The property was also condemned for various housing violations.

Police have two people of interest in custody, 28 year old Julio Estrada and 31 year old Simon Estrada. Simon was booked on unrelated warrants, Julio faces charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, and felony possession of marijuana. Another person, 22 year old Gilberto Garcia Ramos was a person of interest, has no charges pending at this time.
