The Wishing Star Foundation helps a local family.
Today 4-year-old Evan Gimmaka's family spent the morning at Southridge High School in Kennewick decorating centerpieces for the Wishing Star banquet in May.
Evan's wishes from the foundation are to go on a family camping trip, get a new bike, and a playground with a fort in his backyard.
Evan is at home today after going through a round of chemotherapy for a re-occurring brain tumor, but his mother says his attitude is better than anyone could expect.
"He's a happy go lucky child and we're just really blessed," Trenda Jimmaka said. "For what he's going through, his attitude is amazing. We could learn a lot of lessons from him."
Evan's first tumor developed when he was two years old, and now at age four his mother says it has come back and continues to grow.
