YAKIMA, Wash. – The city council will once again take on aggressive panhandling Tuesday night with a public hearing at city hall after receiving several emails and calls on the issue.
"Our legal staff has said we need to have evidence that there is a significant problem in the city of Yakima," said Mayor Micah Cawley. "That would require people coming out and testifying and telling their story."
The mayor says they want the public to share their experiences on the issue and not just those that were aggressive or problematic.
City council will meet at 6:00 p.m. inside council chambers and the public hearing will begin at 7:00 p.m.
