Richland, WA- Richland City Hall opened late this morning so city workers could attend the annual employees service award breakfast.
Every year the city recognizes employees for their years of service.
Debbie Bluher started working in utility billing 25 years ago, and now works in planning and community development as block grant coordinator. As far as how many years before retirement, Bluher says it depends on who ask.
"My husband is saying ten, because he wants to retire now, and I'm saying I hope I can hold out that long."
The city recognized firefighters, clerks, police dispatchers, and dozens of other employees, some marking their 30th anniversaries with the city.
