BENTON CITY, Wash-- One week after a fatal accident took the life of a little boy after he fell into a canal in Benton City, dive rescue workers are highlighting the dangers.
They are among the most dangerous spots in Benton and Franklin Counties. Rescue workers suited up in full gear and under extreme supervision lowered into the water. The goal of the training was to highlight how fast canal waters move, and how difficult it is to pull someone out.
Rescue workers urge you to never play near the canal. And a reminder, this story was done under complete supervision, and no matter how experienced you may think you are, do not try this yourself.
