Students compete at State Knowledge Bowl

RICHLAND, Wash;-- Hundreds of high school students from around Washington test their academic skills at the State Knowledge Bowl tournament at Hanford High School in Richland today.

18 teams from high schools of all sizes competed for the title of quickest thinkers. Students began the day with a writing competition, then progressed to answering questions about general high school subjects.

"It gives you a lot of opportunities to show off that you're doing really well in school, which you don't always get the chance to show in your classes when it's just tests and homework," competitor Abby Kirkwood said.

The State Champion for 4A is Skyview High, 3A champ is Camas, and the 2A champion team is from Pullman High School.
