WEST VALLEY--One man is in jail after shooting off a shotgun during a domestic dispute.
Yakima County Sheriff's deputies say the 33-year-old man broke into the house of his estranged wife around 2:15 p.m. Saturday.
Deputies say the suspect hit her, grabbed their three-year-old son and a sawed off shotgun, fired a round in the air and ran off.
The man eventually let his son go, unharmed. Then police tased the suspect twice.
"Dropping the shotgun, he was approached by the deputies," Sgt. Jeff Gillespie, Yakima County Sheriff's Office, said. "He would not surrender though. We tried to tase him twice, but he was wearing heavy clothing so the taser was not effective."
Deputies did eventually take the man in after a short chase.
He's been booked into the county jail on several felony charges.
