YAKIMA--A first for Yakima: the city hosts a Latino Business Expo.
Hundreds crowded the Yakima Convention Center Sunday afternoon.
They came to get job and wedding planning advice, and network with more than 100 different businesses from all over the Yakima Valley.
Seattle and the Tri-Cities have hosted similar expos. Now the Central Washington Hispanic Chamber of Commerce hopes they've helped out Yakima-area Latinos too.
"If you want to look for a job this is where it's at," Chamber President Berta Alicia Garza said. "Vendors, if you're wanting to recruit Hispanic or bilingual employees, this is where you'll get them as well."
Garza and her fellow chamber members were so impressed by Sunday's turnout, they're already planning to hold another expo next year.
