KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Close but no cigar: That's what the Tri-Cities Fever have been so far this season.

On Saturday, Tri-Cities was tied with Kent at half but the Fever still dropped their third game to start the season, 55 to 49.

So far, they have lost by an average of just 7 points.

Coach Adam Shackleford says he is happy with the effort of the Fever but so far that hasn't been enough.

"I'm proud of my guys for that," said Shackleford. "We don't feel like we're ever out of the game. We are working hard and our wins are going to come. We just got to keep working. We're going to keep things as positive as possible. We know we need to win football games. It's either going to be with these guys or we're going to make changes and do it with new guys but we plan on winning football games."
