Goodwill helps save positing at Lourdes Wilson House
KENNEWICK; Wash-- An employment position to help disabled people find work is saved today thanks to a new partnership between Goodwill industries and Lourdes Wilson House in Pasco.
This means that a full time job developer position at the Lourdes Wilson House will be funded by Goodwill.
Today Goodwill leaders presented a $50 thousand check to workers at the Wilson House. That money will fund the position for a year.
Goodwill leaders say times are tough and when they found out a position at the Wilson House helps disabled people find employment in the community could be lost, they wanted to step up and make sure that didn't happen.
"It's a big deal for everybody with a disability. I think when it comes down to the joint purpose behind our two organizations, it's really about helping people to integrate into our community and that's something we really support here at Wilson house," says Scott Shinsato the Goodwill Executive Director.
Goodwill also announced today they are creating two other paid training positions at their Richland retail store for members who are preparing for employment.
