YAKIMA--Two people from Grandview are being held on $300,000 bail, accused of transporting more than $5 million worth of illegal drugs.

State troopers say they found 20 pounds of ecstasy--roughly 272,000 pills--and a kilo of methamphetamine in a car driven by 27-year-old Elpedia Vargas.  A passenger, 20-year-old Jesus Florencia-Torres, was also charged Wednesday.

According to the Washington State Patrol, 20 pounds of ecstasy is worth about $5.5 million, and a kilo of meth is worth $55,000.  Troopers also found about $15,000 in cash and a small amount of marijuana in the car.

Vargas and Florencia-Torres will both go to trial on May 17.
