YAKIMA, Wash. -- In their 1st season in franchise history, the Yakima Valley Warriors continue to fight every game, so far battling to a 2-1 record.
And their defense has been especially dominant this season. In the team's home opener against Wenatchee Valley, the Warriors 'D' took it to the Venom offense with 4 sacks and 5 turnovers as Yakima Valley grabbed sweet revenge against the Venom with a 64-48 beating of Wenatchee Valley.
Coach Lance Brown is loving that defense.
"Our defense is the heart and soul of this team," said Brown. "You can't take anything from them. When we need something, they do it. There's nothing better than the dirty defense that we have. They play hard football, and hard-nosed all game long."
The Warriors host San Jose Saturday at the Sun Dome.
