Kennewick Police are looking for suspects involved in a shooting outside an apartment complex on Monday. It happened on North Arthur Street. Police say shots were fired early Monday morning, then two men took off running. Shortly after, a woman told police she was sexually assaulted. The alleged victim does have gang ties, but officials aren't calling this gang related. Police say the bullets hit some nearby buildings, but the damage was minimal. They also say there was no sign of forced entry to any complex. Police do have leads on who the two men are.
The woman accused of killing a pregnant woman in Columbia Park and cutting her unborn baby from the womb is in court again today. It's another hearing to look at whether Phien Sisouvanh is competent to stand trial or not.
The number of companies offering medical insurance to their employees may be an indicator of how the economy is doing. That's what the Washington State Employment Security Department says. According to their data, 2008 to 2009 was the second straight year of drops in firms with medical benefits; a 2% drop from 56% to 54%. But from 2007 to 2008, when economists say the recession first hit, there was a 10% drop.
